The Shawnee County Treasurer must be a skilled, professional financial manager. That’s why Larry Mah, current Shawnee County Treasurer has endorsed Susan Duffy to be the next Treasurer.

Susan Duffy remembers the long lines at the County Treasurer’s Office. Those lines are much shorter now that Larry Mah has been Treasurer. Susan has the management skills to keep those lines short and the consumers happy.

Here are some of the other things the county treasurer does, and why it is important to have a professional financial manager in charge of the office:

  • Collects all property taxes for the county

  • Distributes property tax monies to the state and other county taxing districts.

  • Serves as the bank for county government

  • Operates the county's motor vehicle tag department on behalf of the state of Kansas
